The History of CSF
CSF is an established security and fire protection company based in Brynmawr, serving customers throughout South and Mid Wales. For more than 30 years, we have protected homes, businesses and organisations by combining technical expertise, proven technology and a straightforward, personal approach to service.
Our story began in 1995, when former BT engineer and inventor Ron Care identified a gap in the security market. While commercial security technology was developing rapidly, domestic customers often had access to fewer practical solutions. Ron believed there was a better way.
He founded Duoguard and went on to develop one of the UK's early wireless intruder alarm systems. His background in electronics and telecommunications established an approach that would shape the business for decades: understand the problem, apply the right technology and deliver the work properly.
That philosophy remains at the heart of CSF today.
From its original security roots, the business has developed into a comprehensive security and fire protection company, delivering solutions for organisations of all sizes across the region.
In 2017, after 22 years at the helm, Ron sold the business. He continues to support CSF in a consultancy capacity, ensuring that decades of technical knowledge and experience remain available to the team.
Today, we trade as CSF – a modern identity for a business that remains firmly connected to the values on which it was founded.
We are an independent, close-knit team of experienced engineers and support staff who take pride in the quality of our work. Our independence allows us to remain close to our customers, respond quickly and take ownership when something needs attention.
Our clients aren't passed around a large organisation or treated as an account number. They deal with people who know their systems, understand their sites and are committed to getting things right.
Our approach is deliberately straightforward. We listen, assess the risks and requirements, and recommend solutions that are appropriate for the property and the people who use it. We believe technology should solve problems rather than create unnecessary complexity.
Our involvement doesn't end when an installation is complete. Through ongoing maintenance, technical support and responsive service, we aim to build long-term relationships with our customers and remain a trusted partner throughout the life of their systems.
